Fundamentally Transform America

That’s what ex-President Barack Obama (D) bragged was about to occur shortly before his 2008 election victory. He got a major step of that transformation when he nationalized roughly one-sixth of our economy with his nationalization of our health care coverage industry with his Obamacare.

Now the Progressive-Democratic Party is on the verge of finishing the transformation as they sit on the knife’s edge of a sweeping election victory next week. The Wall Street Journal‘s editorial headline lays it out:

[Progressive-Democrat Vice President and Party Presidential candidate Kamala] Harris has already endorsed President Biden’s plan to impose “ethics” rules on the Justices that would invite political harassment and compromise judicial independence. Now she won’t disavow packing the Court. She has called for Democrats, if they keep the Senate in November, to bypass the 60-vote filibuster rule, letting them enact such bills without even a modicum of compromise.

Those would be the final two straws in the destruction of our federated republican democracy form of government. It would be the institution of one-party rule, with the minority party not even a loyal opposition but merely irrelevant, and the conversion of our Supreme Court and of our Federal judiciary in general from its current status as an independent, coequal check on the power of the central government into a rubber stamp of Party decisions.

The WSJ editors aren’t given to hyperbole, and they’re not being hyperbolic in their closing paragraph.

Democrats are serious. They say Mr Trump is a threat to democracy and US institutions, while they’re pledging to restructure the judiciary wholesale. Do they notice the cognitive dissonance? Apparently not. But voters might.

That’s what’s at stake next week.

Progressive-Democrat Vice President and Party Presidential candidate Kamala Harris held a rally in Houston over the weekend, and Beyoncé appeared with her and announced her endorsement of Harris.

Beyoncé also was going to perform at the rally, and when she didn’t both she and Harris were booed.

But was she going to perform? Who said so?

NBC News‘ Kelly O’Donnell, Monica Alba, Yamiche Alcindor, and Alexandra Marquez were four pressmen making the claim:

Pop superstar Beyoncé will appear with Vice President Kamala Harris at her event in Houston on Friday evening, according to three sources familiar with the plans.
Beyoncé is also expected to perform, said one of the sources, who has direct knowledge of the preparations.

The voices in their heads and their childhood imaginary friends said so—that’s the source of their “information.”

Even Just the News chose to mislead rally goers and the public at large regarding a Beyoncé performance, both in its headline and its lede:

Pop music star Beyoncé Knowles is expected to perform at a campaign rally Friday in hometown Houston for Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris.

Expected by whom? JtN didn’t bother to attribute any source at all for its expectation. We’re just supposed to take the outlet’s metaphorical smiling face at its word.

Alternatively, these pressmen and outlet lied and got caught in their lie. Now they are letting Beyoncé and Harris take the heat for the outcome as these wonders scurry away from their own responsibility for the misapprehension.

Regardless of what anyone might think of Harris or former President and Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump, this performance is just one more example of why the press cannot be taken seriously.

Favoring Illegal Aliens over Citizen Homeless

That’s Chicago’s Progressive-Democrat Mayor Brandon Johnson is doing while pretending to adjust down his city’s illegal alien sanctuary status. The subheadline makes the case clearly:

The Windy City is merging its migrant shelter system with the city’s traditional homeless shelter system

And

The overhaul will see 3,800 beds added to the city’s current homeless services system of 3,000 legacy beds….

Johnson is claiming in his press release on the matter that his system now is a unified sheltering system to serve all Chicagoans.

Where to start. Couple things, in particular. The first is that if Johnson had 3,800 beds all along, why didn’t he allocate them sooner and to the shelters that accommodate the city’s resident homeless?

Because, the second thing is that he’s confused about who is a Chicagoan. Illegal aliens are not at all Chicagoans, they’re illegal aliens.

This is Johnson treating illegals at the direct expense of Chicago’s homeless.

Teleprompters

Progressive-Democrat Vice President and Party Presidential candidate Kamala Harris is famously dependent on teleprompters so she can read her speeches amid her inability to speak simultaneously extemporaneously and coherently.

Now it’s coming to light that she’s so dependent on those teleprompters that, in town halls where those devices aren’t present, Harris is dependent on friendly moderators to sub in for those teleprompters.

Journalist Maria Shriver admitted during a town hall event for Vice President Kamala Harris in [Royal Oak] Michigan that only questions that had been “predetermined” would be allowed to be asked.

In response to an attendee’s question, Shriver was clear:

We have some predetermined questions, and hopefully, I’ll be able to ask some of the questions that might be in your head. I hope so[.]

Is this person, one who so plainly cannot think on her feet, someone we want—we can afford as a nation—meeting in our name with the leaders of other nations, particularly with those running enemy nations?

Republicans Created Harris’ Title of Border Czar?

That’s the claim of The Wall Street Journal news room writers.

Republicans exaggerated her role to label the vice president as “border czar,” though her initiative was much narrower.

They also claim that Progressive-Democrat Vice President and Party Presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ DOC was working with Northern Triangle nations to reduce the illegal alien flood. That last, not so much. Here’s Progressive-Democrat President Joe Biden’s own statement announcing his appointment of Harris to the post:

I’ve asked her, the VP, today—because she’s the most qualified person to do it—to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle and the countries that help—are going to need help in stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border.

Not just the Triangle nations—included in Harris’ portfolio are Mexico, which is our southern border and those “countries…going to need help,” which are the aggregated origin of all of the illegal aliens flooding across our southern border.

Regarding the title—label if you prefer—Border Czar, Andrew Arthur, writing shortly after Harris’ appointment in a piece for the Center for Immigration Studies, noted

the executive branch has used the term loosely for almost 60 years to describe an official with a portfolio that includes the duties of other officials.

That’s hardly a current, Republican, creation. Instead, here’s the press, specifically, the New York Post, just two weeks after her appointment. First, the headline:

Where is Kamala? Two weeks since being named border czar, Harris still hasn’t visited

And in the body:

Instead, in her first two weeks as czar, she has traveled….

And NBC News, referring to Harris’ immediate predecessor:

In a statement Friday announcing that Roberta Jacobson, Biden’s border czar who has played a key role….

And so on.

Maybe the WSJ needs to get a new crop of interns for its newsroom research function. Or more accurate writers.
