Nonsense

The Left never seems to run out of it.  This time their foolishness runs to their disapproval of the No Shave November campaign for calling attention to male health questions ranging from prostate cancer to men’s suicide rates.  They object because…well, just because.

Next they’ll be claiming that focusing on men’s health is heteronormative male chauvinism and exclusionary.

Oh, wait—they already are.  Seb Starcevic, of the Sydney Daily Telegraph:

It’s disappointing that what could’ve served as a much-needed dialogue about the many ways in which men, trans men included, can express their masculinity without resorting to chauvinist caricatures is in danger of devolving into at best a pissing contest between bros about who can grow the most facial hair to prove their manliness and at worst an implicit endorsement of 1950s-style gender norms, complete with transphobia.

And Jacob Brogan and Christina Cauterucci in Slate:

Above all else, Movember [No Shave November—yeah, I know] irritates me because it’s not so much about cancer awareness as it is about masculinity awareness. It starts from the assumption that men are somehow uniquely imperiled—threatened by all these horrible diseases….

Of course, there’s nothing at all unique about prostate cancer—women, too, are starting to be victimized by an epidemic of it….

Nah.  Charity, support for less fortunate, cannot be done in any way but that in which these Precious Ones personally approve.

All they’re capable of thinking about is themselves.

Of Course

Here‘s Senator Mark Warner (D, VA):

The coalition needs to be broader.  The Democratic Party has a history that it’s been about working Americans. We cannot be a party of the East Coast, West Coast and metropolitan areas.

And yet, that’s exactly what the Progressive-Democratic Party of Elizabeth Warren (D, MA) and Bernie Sanders (I, VT) and Barack Obama (D, President) has made itself into, with policies that actively suppress, with Know Better monumental regulation and governance by Executive Order, the middle and poorer classes of Americans.  Here’s that divide in geography, in two maps from The New York Times.  The first shows the vote for Donald Trump; the missing parts of the US are regions that voted for Hillary Clinton. trumpmap_1

This second map shows the vote for Clinton; it emphasizes the regions of Progressive-Democratic Party support, which are the two coasts and some urban enclaves.trumpmap_2

That’s the physical location of their bubble.  This, from the subhead of the WSJ piece under the first link above, illustrates their intellectual bubble.

There are big parts of the country that just aren’t hearing us.

Of course Progressive policies are panacea.  Us Americans are just too stupid, or to deaf, to hear and understand the Progressive message.  Or we’re just too irredeemably deplorable a collection of bitter, gun toting religion clingers.

Yeah.  That’s the ticket.  That’ll get the Progressive-Democratic Party back into power.

Does It Matter?

I don’t ordinarily go to People magazine for material, but I was sent here by Fox News Insider, and this tale is just too amusing to ignore.

[D]esigner Sophie Theallet has flipped the script on those ubiquitous calls to boycott, announcing that instead it is she and her brand who will be boycotting Trump and his wife, Melania, refusing to lend her any of her designs.

And

A source tells People, “This has already been going on for months. Designers wouldn’t lend to Melania, Ivanka, or Tiffany, so they either bought the items themselves or wore Ivanka’s brand.”

Wait—what?  Ivanka Trump is a competitor of these ladies and gentlemen?  That sheds some light on the matter….

Then there’s this:

Carolina Herrera told Business of Fashion, “I think that in two or three months [designers will] reach out, because it’s fashion. You’ll see everyone dressing Melania. She’s representing the United States.”

Because capitalism, and there’s money in being Dresser to the Stars.

I think a grown, adult woman is fully capable of dressing herself.  I think a woman as plainly intelligent, as obviously successful in the world of fashion (and modeling), as clearly successful in business as is soon-to-be First Lady Melania Trump is fully capable of making her own fashion decisions.  And if those fashion decisions come off the rack, well, that just demonstrates the superfluous superficiality of the precious ones of fashion…design.

How Democrats View Civility

A group of maverick history teachers at elite Beacon HS in Manhattan let their kids skip class Tuesday to join a Trump Tower protest, despite objections from colleagues, The Post has learned.

Roughly 200 kids from the Hell’s Kitchen public school were granted hooky passes at 11 a.m. and joined students from across the city to disparage The Donald, sources said.

This is reminiscent of the teachers unions in Wisconsin and of the Wisconsin and Indiana Democratic Parties during their wars on the States’ governments over worker rights not to pay money to unions to which they didn’t belong.  In those cases, the Wisconsin unions encouraged their teachers to lie about where they were as they missed work (with too many doctors complicit in the lies) to “protest” the State government’s legislation to rein in public unions and the Democrats in both States giving themselves permission to abscond from the States, shirking their duties, and halting those two governments because these minority parties didn’t get their way.

So now precious teachers are teaching precious little ones to emulate precious Democrats and these teachers’ unions.

The schools employing these teachers are receiving tons of State dollars under a broad range of programs and grants.  It’s time to review those programs and grants.

Political…Imperative

Asra Nomani, a journalist and professor of journalism at Georgetown University, also is, in her words, “a Muslim, a woman, and an immigrant.”  And she voted for Donald Trump in the just concluded election.  For that heinous crime, as she said in a Fox & Friends interview,

…I am now being [characterized] as a traitor, to my own liberals as an idiot, names that I can’t even repeat on air[.]

And

…fellow Muslims have told her they hope Allah sends her “to the gates of hell.”

This is the Left’s version of tolerance.  A woman who moves against the Left’s wishes is vilified because she doesn’t act in consonance with the Left’s perceptions of her group identities.  Whatever happened to the Left’s concept of self-identifying and respecting that?

That only works when it’s convenient to the group.
