President Barack Obama (D) intends to bring even more refugees into the nation, 30% more, to the tune of 110,000, of which 40,000 would be from the Middle and South Asia regions. He intends to start this in just a couple of weeks, 1 October, the start of the new fiscal year.
I’m one of those that believes that we have an obligation to see to the welfare of refugees from war zones and from political persecution. But that seeing to does not, of necessity, include accepting refugees into our nation. That’s an especially dangerous thing to do when we can’t adequately vet those we’re allowing in, to ensure as well as possible that we’ve screened out as many terrorists masquerading themselves as refugees as we can. It’s also an especially dangerous thing to do when it’s done by an administration that insists that our national borders be open and unguarded.
