I Got a Text Message

It was my first political text message, and it was from Powered by People, a Progressive-Democrat supporting organization. From their Web site, this:

Powered by People will not only be working in competitive State House districts, we will be expanding our organizing to every single one of the 254 counties of Texas, calling and texting every single Democrat to make sure that we help lead the largest voter turnout program in the history of the state.

Here’s the text; the recipient’s name is withheld to protect the person’s privacy:

Hi ****, this is Sharon, a volunteer w/Powered by People. As a Texan, will you vote for Joe Biden or Donald Trump this November?

My response:

This isn’t ****.
How typical of the Progressive-Democratic Party to do such sloppy work.
To answer your question, though, as a proud Texan, I’ll be voting for the overall good of our nation; I’ll be voting for Donald Trump.

This mistake also illustrates the potential for massive error represented by universal mail-in voting: misaddressed and so undelivered and mis-handled ballots, just lying around waiting for “others” to fraudulently fill in and submit.

Morality

Its lack among Progressive-Democrats was on full display in a recent Harris Faulkner interview of Jose Aristimuno, ex-Party Deputy National Press Secretary and current President and Founder of NOW Strategies LLC, a leftist PR and communications company.

He was asked why no one on the first day of the Progressive-Democratic Party convention condemned the violence currently rampant in Progressive-Democrat-run cities.

Aristimuno’s excuse: “Those speeches were taped earlier.”

That’s a dishonest copout. The violence predates those tapings by months. It’s also an easy thing to update those recordings with a simple statement of condemnation.

Not one of the Party’s speakers chose to do any of that.

Progressive-Democrats are shying away from even commenting on the violence in their cities.

Think about what that says about their concept of morality.

The Size of the Drift

ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos is the latest member of the media to portray Senator Kamala Harris (D, CA) as a moderate choice for Joe Biden’s running mate.

Stephanopoulos went on to add

Kamala Harris comes from the middle of the road, moderate wing of the Democratic party….

Harris’ positions include

  • supporting vastly raising tax rates, beginning with—but not ending there, rescinding the 2017 tax rate cuts
  • eliminating private insurance altogether and replacing it with Senator Bernie Sanders’ (I, VT) Medicare for All
  • limiting, in contravention of the 2nd Amendment, Americans’ access to weapons of which she personally disapproves
  • legalizing marijuana, never minding the damage marijuana chemicals do to developing brains
  • pushing for the Green New Deal
  • supporting far more open borders than currently exist—no more wall
  • canceling outright up to $20,000 in student loans for selected groups of students
  • heavily limiting the ability of oil and gas companies to produce the energy our economy needs
  • raising the minimum wage to $15/hr
  • “studying” reparations
  • eliminating the Electoral College
  • removing most of the existing limits on abortion.

She’s likened police departments to the KKK.

She’s also the most liberal and least inclined to bipartisanship of all the Progressive-Democrats in the Senate according to GovTrack.

It’s a strong measure of how far left the Progressive-Democratic Party has gone that a person with those positions is considered a member of the moderate, middle of the road wing of the party.

Hypocrisy

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is at it again. A simple blue line mural, painted outside the city’s 22nd precinct in support of the city’s police, is not allowed. The artist, Scott Lobaido, didn’t have a permit for the mural, so there’s that.

De Blasio didn’t have a permit for his mural in front of the Trump tower, either.

“The mayor of this city, who put his street artwork provocatively in front of Trump Tower, did not have a permit, which he just recently admitted,” artist Scott Lobaido told Fox & Friends First on Thursday.

There’s that, too. Laws and regulations only apply when they’re convenient.

This is the hypocrisy of Progressive-Democrats on full display.
