Political…Imperative

Asra Nomani, a journalist and professor of journalism at Georgetown University, also is, in her words, “a Muslim, a woman, and an immigrant.”  And she voted for Donald Trump in the just concluded election.  For that heinous crime, as she said in a Fox & Friends interview,

…I am now being [characterized] as a traitor, to my own liberals as an idiot, names that I can’t even repeat on air[.]

And

…fellow Muslims have told her they hope Allah sends her “to the gates of hell.”

This is the Left’s version of tolerance.  A woman who moves against the Left’s wishes is vilified because she doesn’t act in consonance with the Left’s perceptions of her group identities.  Whatever happened to the Left’s concept of self-identifying and respecting that?

That only works when it’s convenient to the group.

The Bias of Journalists and Journalism

Howard Kurtz, that self-styled bastion of journalistic criticism who writes for Fox News has a piece out about a Trump-hostile media and “some pundits admitting they blew it.”

After producing a litany of…mistakes…made by newspapers and pseudo-journalists as they produced their erroneous analyses and predictions, though, this is all that Kurtz could conclude:

[W]e somehow decided that we knew what was best for them.

Kurtz is missing the point.  His fellow pseudo-journalists didn’t miss their predictions because they misunderstood or blew off mainstream Americans—Americans outside their New York and West Coast bubble—or because they thought they knew what was best for us.  That’s a symptom, not a cause.  His fellow pseudo-journalists misunderstood and blew us off because they’re too biased to see the truth.

And so Kurtz exposes his own bias.

I suggest that the era of the NLMSM is past.  It’s time for ordinary Americans to go elsewhere for our news and other information.  It’s time for us to use our own judgment in evaluating that news and information.

The print and broadcast sources have shown they cannot be trusted; their output has no reliable value.  Their output, at bottom, is no different than the entertainment fluff published by the National Enquirers or the Globes or the Stars of the entertainment industry.  Kurtz and his ilk just take themselves more seriously.

More Pay for Play

The Clinton Foundation has confirmed it accepted a $1 million gift from Qatar while Hillary Clinton was US Secretary of State without informing the State Department, even though she had promised to let the agency review new or significantly increased support from foreign governments.

A million bucks for a meeting with President Bill Clinton.

And

At least eight other countries besides Qatar gave new or increased funding to the foundation, in most cases to fund its health project, without the State Department being informed….

For health projects.  Or so they say.  There would have been no problem telling State about these were that true.

The only reason they’re confessing now is because they got caught by a Wikileaks hack.

Keep in mind as you head to the polls today.

Voting Dishonesty

The Democrats are feeling threatened and are in court, lots of times, because of it.  Their beef?  Republican Party Presidential candidate Donald Trump wants his supporters, when they vote, to be careful and to be observant for error or misbehavior at polling places.  Here’s an example of what Trump has said that the Democrats pretend is so intimidating:

I hope you people can…not just vote on the 8th, [but also] go around and look and watch other polling places and make sure that it’s 100-percent fine[.]

Only a Democrat with a guilty conscience would find a threat in that advice to Trump voters to be careful.  Yet they’ve (pretended to) found one.

“Immediate relief is necessary,” Donald J McTigue, a lawyer for the Ohio Democratic Party argued in court papers filed in the Ohio case. McTigue said that the defendants’ [sic] including the Trump campaign, the Ohio Republican Party, and Trump supporters are engaged in a “coordinated campaign of vigilante voter intimidation….”

This is not the manufactured thin skin and pretended fear that we need anywhere in our Federal government.

Global Warming and the World Series

The pseudo-scientists of the climatistas say that the rain delay between the 9th and 10th innings of last Wednesday’s Game 7 was caused by global warming.

Seriously, the science wizards behind the party’s Twitter account asserted that it “should” be snowing in Cleveland on November 3. It’s November, it’s Cleveland…it’s called science, people.

It’s November. It should be snowing in Cleveland, not raining! Blame global warming for the delay. #WorldSeries

Science, indeed.  Here’s a table of temperatures in the latter two-thirds of November 1908, the last year the Cubs won a Series, via the same Watts Up With That link above [highlight in the original]:worldseriesglobalwarmingIt would be funny, if this weren’t so serious.  As it is, it’s risible.
